Modified Firefly Optimization Algorithm-Based IDS for Nature-Inspired Cybersecurity

The new paradigm of nature-inspired cybersecurity can establish a robust defense by utilizing well-established computing algorithms to analyze networks and act quickly. existing research focuses primarily on the efficient selection features for quick optimized detection rates using firefly other optimization techniques. However, selecting most appropriate may be specific network, different set work better than selected one. Therefore, there is need generalized pre-processing step based standard network monitoring parameters early suspicious nodes before applying feature-based or any type monitoring. This paper proposes modified version algorithm effectively monitor introducing novel health function nodes. We implement event management schemes proposed optimize observation priority list genetic evolution real-time events in network. obtained simulation results demonstrate effectiveness under various attack scenarios. In addition, indicate that method reduces approximately 60–80% number while increasing turnaround time only 1–2%. also specifically accurate protect proactively.
